The Inter Society Sports Meet for the year 2016-17 under the Society League was held from 28th to 30th December 2016 in GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. It was a spectacular sight to witness this mega event on a grand scale under the collective endeavours of all the four welfare societies – SC, ST, BC and the General Society.

The meet was inaugurated by our Chief Guest, Sri Rajeev Sharma, IAS (Retd.), Chief Advisor, Government of Telangana. The teams of the societies welcomed the guests by displaying their talents. The Chief Guest with other dignitaries hoisted the National Flag, Society League Flag and the Olympics Flag. Crackers on a large scale exploded and balloons were flown up in to the air when the Chief Guest declared the meet open. Lighting the Olympic torch and Oath Taking Ceremony took place.

This very mega event was the brain child of Dr. R. S. Praveen Kumar who envisaged the realistic implications and thus conceived and designed it. After the welcome address of the Secretary and the Chief Guest the meet took charge of the momentum. Close to 1600 students and 400 officials participated in this meet and played a vital role.

Events for schools and college teams were held separately. Besides these, there were 7 Games and 15 Athletics under each category. There was a huge assortment of games and sports for this 3-day event which began on Wednesday, the 28th December 2016.

The valedictory function made its impetus with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Sri Nagapuri Ramesh who was the recipient of the prestigious Dronacharya Award from the Telangana State. The valuable message given by the Chief Guests and the Secretaries of all the Welfare Societies will undoubtedly ignite the spark in our students to compete with the same healthy spirit in all the future competitions.
